Rio Gallegos - Santa Cruz Province

The Gallegos River is regarded as one of the world's best rivers for sea-run brown trout. The river is home to a large quantity of astonishingly large trout. Its lower sections are fishermen favorite area, where the features make it an ideal location for dry-fly fishing. The upper area is great for the addition of resident browns.

Large brook trout - uncommon in other areas of the continent - can be found here. We have arranged to have access to this part of the world where nature shows its splendor. You will be among a chosen few to stay in the Estancias where guest are drawn by the simplicity of the estancia life.

Walks through picturesque landscape, drinks on a porch, and the smell of beef barbecuing over wood embers. You will experience a time when the European first came to colonize this land and escape the troubles of both world wars. British, Germans, and Dutch colonist, among others, left a legacy of culture and tradition. Patagonia neither feels so Latin nor, deceptively, so far flung.

You have the comforting sense of traveling the colonies during the Empire's heyday. While the tourist masses mob the small government owned areas, you alone will have the privilege of experiencing the serenity of the largest private ranches in the Western Hemisphere. Just a few hours drive from the airport, these ranches seem light-years from the tourist hubbub, offering adventure and romanticism. Your experience will bring you back to this place again and again

You will enjoy their friendly companionship and insight they provide about the local culture, history wildlife and geography of Patagonia. Though all of the guides speak good to excellent English, it would enhance your experience to try your best at Spanish.
